  This was my first introduction to Escher. My copy is falling apart from over a decade of use. The book includes 8 full-color pictures, and 90 illistrations, including some of the most popular pictures by Escher. There are descriptions by Escher of his pictures; some of them appear on this web site.

  This is the definitive Escher reference book. It includes a biography, several essays, the coplete text of "The Regular Division of the Plane", by Escher, and a near-complete catalog of every picture Escher ever made. (I've found just a couple of pictures not in the catalog.) I highly recommend this to anyone who has a serious intrest in Escher.
