Rating pictures

All pictures in the Escher page have a rating assigned to them. The rating is a number that describes the quality of the picture. Low numbers mean the picture is of better quality than high numbers.

Starting with the base of 1, points are added for each of the following:

• +3 Picture is probably not by Escher.
• +2 Picture has been modified in some way.
• +1, +2, or +3 Picture is grainy (number assigned depends on how bad it is)
• +1, +2, or +3 Picture is fuzzy.
• +1 Too light or too dark.
• +1 Picture is a detail of a larger picture, or is cropped.
• +1 Picture is tilted, skewed, or has wrong porportions (+1 for each)
• +1 Picture is of generally low quality.

When pictures are displayed in responce to a database query, the worst-rated pictures are sorted to the bottom of the list of matches. In this way, the user sees the best quality pictures first.
