Perlmoo is a Lambdamoo-like moo, written and extensible in perl. For those of you who are new to moo-ing, a moo is a server for a virtual world, a computer program which users can log into and explore. Each user takes control of a computerized persona/avatar/incarnation/character. You can walk around, chat with other people, and even create your very own rooms, descriptions and items. Why do this in perl? I like lambdamoo, but I'm not fond of its built in language and I wanted to be able to extend a moo using my favorite language, perl. Perlmoo's homepage is http://kitenet.net/programs/perlmoo/ . A moo running perlmoo is online at perlmoo.kitenet.net port 8888, and guests are welcome. See README.admin for the details of how to get the moo running and administer it. See README.programming for information about how to program inside the moo. To contact the author, mail joey@kitenet.net. Warning: ------- This is an experimental program, it still needs a lot of work. Consider this alpha-quality code. If you see anything that looks like a bug, please mail joey@kitenet.net a transcript of the circumstances that trigger the bug.
